The Oppose is foremost a purpose built pinch trainer, but unlike a pinch block which is skin contact dependent while fatiguing the fingers where the load is a proxy for thumb strength, this is direct stimulus for thumb flexion, opposition, and adduction to be used isometrically in a yielding or overcoming manner as well as through a more complete range of motion which we lack on the wall. Affix to free weights, load cells, cable machines, slings, or similar and pull against the broad edge.
As well, this features an open and heavily rounded edge to support single finger isolation by bypassing areas of discomfort or injury such as cysts, lesions, pulley tears, and more. Not intended for single finger strength training.
Available in 3 sizes: Small (19mm), Medium (22mm), and Large (25mm). Measure the widest part of the thumb pad when pressed against a surface (actual size of the device is greater than this, but for best comfort be below the listed size). Features opposing broad (thumb) and curved (finger) edges, varied roundovers for more comfortable setup, low profile to minimize need to spread (abduct) the fingers, and a stable but adjusting cord which facilitates when training through a range of motion. Included 8 strand HMPE rated for 4.3kn which provides further structure to the device. No rating provided.
